Child Health will be contacting the parents of children aged 5 to 11 years who have not received the full MMR vaccination course. There have been clusters of measles cases reported in the region in recent weeks.
Vaccination is a safe and effective way to protect children against what were once common and often devastating infections. Increased vaccination coverage also increases herd immunity. This prevents the spread of the disease and protects children too young to be vaccinated and other vulnerable people, such as those undergoing cancer treatment.
